Louise May Sunshine, age 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She spent a lifetime caring for others, and now it was her time to be called home by the Lord.
Born to the late William A. Dancer and Goldie G. Dancer (née Bolden), Louise lived a life rooted in devotion, to her family, her home, and her beloved husband. She was the devoted wife of the late Irwin Oliver Governor Sunshine, with whom she shared an extraordinary 65 years of marriage, a bond built on love, loyalty, and companionship that remained the center of her heart throughout her life.
Louise was a beloved mother to Victor (Patricia) Sunshine, Cindy Lynette (Eric) Stephens, Karen Tina Renee (Tim) Bade, and Janeen Lea (John) Foerster. She was a cherished grandmother to the late Gina (Irfan), Eric, Chrissy (Adrian), Andy, Becca, Kevin (Sarah), Alizsun (Matthew), John, and Chloe, and a loving great-grandmother to Tyler, Nicole, Orion, Tessa, Nova, Anastasia, and Joseph. She was also a dear sister to the late Toni, the late Loretta, and surviving sisters Laverne, and Lolita.
She found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments; tending to her flowers, rose bushes, and blooming trees; feeding birds, especially hummingbirds; and spending time with her beloved dogs. She had a fondness for collecting antique dolls and Barbies, along with a special and much-loved collection of Baby Yodas. Louise also enjoyed sewing and trips to the casino.
An exceptional home cook, Louise was famous among family and friends for her apple pies, banana bread, and potato salad, recipes made with love and shared generously. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, comfort, and togetherness.
Above all else, Louise loved her family fiercely. Her husband remained the great love of her life, and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest pride and joy.
Louise May Sunshine will be remembered for her gentle heart, unwavering devotion, and the deep love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the countless memories she created that will be held close forever.
