Lyn Zick

Marilyn Muriel (Lyn) Zick went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on May 9, 2026.

Lyn was born on October 16, 1930, in St. Louis, Missouri. She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Arthur G. Zick, and their three sons, Robert (Wendy), Stewart (Barbara), and Douglas Zick; four grandchildren: Alison Francis (Jeff), Kyle Zick (Maggie), Julie Wilson (Ross) and Jennifer Zick (David) and ten great grandchildren.

Lyn was predeceased in death by her parents, Virgil F. and Lillian L. (Ritter) Winchell; in laws, Arthur and Ruth Zick; brother, Gene Winchell; brother-in-law, Don Zick; and two grandsons, Adam Zick and Todd Zick.

A graduate of Mizzou with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, she served as the director of Kirk of the Hills Christian Preschool and Kindergarten from 1977 until her retirement in 1991. Early in her career, she taught Kindergarten and 1st grade in St. Louis public schools, Affton and Parkway. She also taught in Detroit, Michigan and Elkton, Maryland. In North Carolina she headed up the Christian preschool at Alamance Presbyterian Church.

Lyn always enjoyed crafts, especially needlepointing, but upon retirement she began painting, beginning with oils, but later with watercolors. She studied locally, but also took classes in Paris, France and Lake Como, Italy. Her paintings grace many homes and offices.

The family is very grateful for the loving care provided by Dr. Michael Nash and New Haven Care Center.

Arrangements: A visitation will be held Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church, 12928 Ladue Road, St. Louis, Missouri 63141, with a service to follow at noon. Burial will take place at Bellerive Gardens Cemetery, 740 North Mason Rd., Creve Coeur, Missouri 63141, following the church service.
