Mabel Marie Wilke Obituary

Asleep in Jesus, Mabel Marie Wilke, 97, December 16th 2020.

She was born February 17, 1923 to Alfred and Theresia (Hunt) Meinz in Altenburg, MO. She was the 7th of 11 children.

Mabel married the love of her life Henry (Pete) Wilke August 14, 1941. The celebrated 54 years of marriage. They had one child, Theresa (Terry).

Mabel and Pete met at a bakery and continued to work together all of their working life. They met at Wotka’s Tasty Bakery, opened their own bakery, Wilke’s Bakery, finally retiring from Haas Baking Company.

After retirement, they enjoyed many bus tours and fishing trips to Lake of the Ozarks and Table Rock.

Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, all brothers and sisters, and her husband Pete. She is survived by her daughter Terry Holst (Tom), two grandchildren Michael Holst (fiancée Kaleigh) and Katie Wood (Austin), and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
