Marcella Queensen (née Wolters), born on October 17, 1925, in Saint Louis City, Missouri, Fortified by the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church on May 26, 2026, in her hometown of Saint Louis City. She lived a life marked by kindness, devotion, and a deep connection to her community and family.

Marcella was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose presence enriched the lives of those around her. She is survived by her loving sons, Gary Queensen and David Queensen, the latter with his wife Lynn. She was the dear mother-in-law of Carl Intag and the cherished grandmother of Kevin (Josie), Michelle, Matthew, Lisa (Jared), Diane, and Adam. Her family was further blessed by the presence of her great-granddaughters Emma and Sadie, whom she adored deeply. Marcella was also the Godmother of Marilyn Bell, extending her nurturing spirit beyond her immediate family. She counted many members of the Legion of Mary among her dear nieces, nephews and friends, reflecting the breadth of relationships she cultivated through faith and service.

Marcella’s family also remembers with fondness those who have preceded her in death, including her devoted husband William Queensen, her daughter Deborah Intag, her parents Henry and Josephine (née Vierling) Wolters, her brother Ed Wolters and daughter-in-law Connie Queensen. Their memories remain a treasured part of her story and her legacy.

Throughout her life, Marcella found joy and purpose in many simple pleasures and meaningful pursuits. She was an accomplished quilter, creating beautiful works that reflected her patience and creativity. Her commitment extended beyond her family to her community through her involvement as one of the lunch ladies at Our Lady of Sorrows, where she touched countless lives with her warmth and generosity.

A visitation to honor and remember Marcella will take place on June 2, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons Funeral Homes - South City Chapel located at 7027 Gravois Ave, St. Louis, MO 63116. A Mass in celebration of her life will be held on June 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 5020 Rhodes Ave, St. Louis, MO 63109, followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum and Cemetery.

Marcella Queensen’s enduring legacy is a testament to a life well-lived—one defined by love, faith, and the gentle strength of a woman who cherished her family and community. She will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever honored by all who knew her.
