Schiller, Marie (nee Koenig)

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Sat., Aug.7, 2021, at the age of 86. Beloved wife of 67 years of Edmund Schiller; preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Elsie (nee Diehl) Koenig, brothers Arthur and Robert Koenig, son, Tim, daughter-in-law, Grayce (nee McGuigan), and granddaughter, Anne Schiller. Beloved sister of Richard Koenig. Loving mother of Debbie (John) Marklin, Bill (Kristin Denbow), Tom (Christine), Pat (Garry) Orf and Christopher (Angela). Grandmother to 20, great-grandmother to 9, loving aunt, dear friend.

Marie deeply loved her family and was known for her fried chicken, creating costumes, clothing and quilts, Easter egg hunts, original greeting cards, and Christmas morning.  She touched hundreds of lives at Our Lady of Sorrows producing the CYC Follies, managing the fish frys, and working at the picnic. She watched hundreds of kid's and grandkid's games, from CYC Bantams to college, as well as dance, piano, violin recitals and band concerts. She was best known for her warm smile and friendly nature that touched everyone she met.

The family wishes to thank Barnes-Jewish Hospital ICU for their kindness to Marie and her family.

Visitation 4 – 8 pm, Tues., Aug. 10, at John L. Zeigenhein & Sons, 7027 Gravois, 63116. Marie’s life will be celebrated at a funeral Mass at 10:30 am, Wed., Aug. 11, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 5020 Rhodes, 63109. Interment will be immediately following at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road, 63125.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Marie's name to Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
