Mayer, Marilyn R. (nee Kuehn), 90, of St. Louis, Missouri, died at Bethesda Southgate on May 28, 2025, surrounded by her children. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond A. and Grace L. Kuehn, her sister Martha K. Roos and her loving husband Erwin W Mayer.
Marilyn was born on November 5, 1934 to Raymond A. and Grace L. Kuehn. She graduated from Cleveland High School in 1952 and attended Harris Stowe Teacher College. After graduating from Harris Stowe on Thursday, she married Erwin W Mayer on Saturday February 6, 1954. From this union came 4 children Cynthia Ruggeri (Charles), Richard Mayer (Tammy), Susan Hurt (Kevin), and Jennifer Solomon (Jeffrey). She was also the grandma to Lindsay Leeka (Carter), Kelsey Jacobs (Christopher), Ashley Eckhardt (Kyle), Matthew Mayer, Ian Hurt (Amarie), Colin Hurt, Jenna Parker (Cameron), and Nate Solomon. She was also the GG to Parker and August Leeka, Charley, Gia, and Winn Jacobs, Jameson, Grace, and Grant Eckhardt, and Evelyn Parker. Marilyn is also survived by her brother-in-law, niece, nephews, and cousins, as well as their families.
Marilyn loved her children, grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. Family was very important to her. She was active in Job's Daughters, Bayless Mother's Club and bowling league, the Moolah Lady Shriners and went on many trips with her husband with the Shrine and their friends. Marilyn loved to play cards, play BINGO, go to the casino, and do puzzles.
Thanks to Bethesda Charless Village and Southgate for making her last 14 years of life enjoyable.
Service will be held at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons Funeral Home at the South County location on June 9,, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with the funeral service beginning at 11:30 am. Interment in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery immediately following the service at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Marilyn's name to Shriners Hospital.
