Marion Schmeerbauch, (née Kaufmann), entered into rest peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in Sunset Hills, Missouri, at the age of 95. Born on July 1, 1930, in Saint Louis City, Missouri, Marion lived a rich and full life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and a passion for creating moments of togetherness and joy.
Marion was a beloved member of the New Apostolic Church, where her spirit of kindness and commitment touched many lives. Her love for cooking and hosting gatherings brought warmth and laughter to countless family occasions and celebrations. As an avid reader, she found endless joy and adventure between the pages of her favorite books, reflecting a lifelong thirst for knowledge and understanding. Marion and her devoted husband traveled extensively, exploring the world together and creating treasured memories that enriched their lives immeasurably.
Famously competitive in family games, Marion was a diehard game fan who never liked to lose, a playful reminder of her spirited nature and zest for life that endeared her to all who knew her.
Marion is survived by her devoted children: Randy (Lynn) Schmeerbauch, Larry Schmeerbauch, and Michael (Marcia) Schmeerbauch, who carry forward her legacy of love and strength. She was a cherished grandmother to Aaron (Megan) Schmeerbauch, Kari (Eric) Brand, Ryan Winzen, Adam (Anna) Schmeerbauch, Andrew R. Schmeerbauch, and Patrick Schmeerbauch. Her nurturing love extended to her beloved great-grandchildren: Dresden, Kyle, Liam, Emerson, Allen, Adrian, Calihan, Abram, Miriam, and Jack, each a living testament to the deep roots she planted in her family’s heart. Marion was also a dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many whose lives she enriched with her generosity and warmth.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Rev. William "Bill" Schmeerbauch; her grandson Andrew K. Schmeerbauch; and her brother Louis Kauffmann.
Family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate Marion's life at the following services: Visitation will be held on June 15, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons Funeral Homes - South County Chapel, located at 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO 63129. A second visitation occurs on June 16, 2026, from 6:00 PM until her funeral services 7:00 PM at the New Apostolic Church, 9701 MacKenzie Rd, Affton, MO 63123.
Marion Schmeerbauch’s life was a beautiful tapestry of love, faith, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate to know her, and her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift all who loved her.
