Mark Zipay

Mark Christian Zipay, 66, passed away January 23, 2022. Son of the late Rev. Nicholas Zipay Jr. and the late Ruth L. Zipay, nee Kucera, husband of Rita “Jo” Zipay, nee Johannsen, father of Christiana Zipay and Mark Christopher Zipay, brother of; Nicholas J. (Patricia L.) Zipay, Ruth K. Zipay, Rebecca A. Zipay, and Rev. Joel S. (Laura J.) Zipay, and son-in-law of the late Ronnie Pierce.

Mark was a retired teacher who taught at St. John’s Lutheran School in Arnold, Missouri. He was a diehard fan of the St. Louis Blues and St. Louis Cardinals and was a longtime season ticket holder for both as well as an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Mark was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a devoted husband and father who was very proud of his children.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 am to 12 pm, Thursday, January 27, 2022, at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, 7100 Morgan Ford Rd. St. Louis, MO, 63116. A funeral service will follow at 12 pm at the church. Interment will be in St. Matthews Cemetery.
