Mary Louise Hoffman (née Kaercher) passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, and devotion. A woman of deep faith and remarkable spirit, Mary lived her life with purpose, generosity, and an unending desire to learn about the world around her.

Born to Leonard M. (Nancy) Kaercher and Roma Hendrix (Reiman) née Fisher, Mary grew up in a family that valued connection and service. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her sister, Katherine Blankenship (Glen) née Kaercher.

Mary was a proud and dedicated member of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce and the Antique Train Society, two communities that fueled her love of history, craftsmanship, and lifelong learning. A determined career woman who thrived in the corporate world, she balanced professionalism with warmth and humor, earning the admiration of colleagues and friends alike.

Travel was one of Mary’s greatest joys, and she embraced the world with open arms. She visited Israel, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Japan, England, Mexico, Canada, Australia, Alaska, and many more destinations—each journey nourishing her love of culture, food, and human connection. She delighted in exploring new places and was always eager to share pictures and stories from her adventures.

A devout Catholic, Mary contributed her musical talent to the church, often playing the flute for choir performances and weddings. She was deeply involved in organizing liturgical events and found great meaning in serving her parish community.

Mary lived a life of service beyond the church as well. As a dedicated member of CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), she volunteered her time with the Shrewsbury Fire Department, offering help where it was needed most. Her generosity extended to her kitchen as well—she loved cooking for friends, making them feel welcomed and cherished.

She is survived by her loving brother, William Kaercher (Eloise); her devoted daughter, Maureen Koeneker (née Hoffman); and her granddaughters, Jennifer M. Koeneker and Meagan Koeneker. Mary was also blessed with great-granddaughters Annabella Koeneker and Ailah Reyes, who brought her endless joy.

Mary will be remembered for her adventurous heart, her unwavering faith, her love for her family, and her commitment to helping others. Her warmth, resilience, and joyful spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.

May she rest in peace, reunited with those who went before her, and forever watching over those who love her still.
