Mary Louise Renner, nee Suren, baptized into the hope of Christ’s Resurrection on Wednesday March 25, 2026, at the age of 97. Beloved wife of and reunited with the late Frank Renner; devoted mother of Cathy (Tim) Drury, Kevin (Michelle) Renner, and Victor Renner; cherished grandma of Ted (Sarah) Drury, Tess (Ryan Farriss) Renner, Kiera (Corey Gibson) Drury, and Eric Renner; blessed great-grandma of Sadie and Lucy; precious daughter of the late Aloysius and the late Louise, nee Niederhoffer, Suren; dear sister of the late Richard, the late Jack, the late Marge, and the late Dot; and beloved aunt and great-aunt. Mary is also survived by any other dear relatives and friends.
Mary was born, welcoming in the St. Louis winter 1928, and joining her loving family. Throughout her long and fulfilling life, Mary made many memories with family members and strangers alike. When Mary was not acting as the leading matriarch of her family, she was known to volunteer at Old St. Anthony Hospital, and was a devoted member of Catholic Knights of America.
Mary is also remembered for her varied hobbies and interests. Mary was known to be sociable, enjoying the fellowship of other crafters in the quilting club, or, an avid BINGO player, the thrill of winning a game of BINGO. In her quieter moments, Mary found great peace tending to her garden, surrounded by the fruits of her labors and God’s blessings. Mary also loved to cook and cherished the memories made with family members surrounding her kitchen table.
Above all, Mary is remembered for the love and care that she shared with so many throughout her life. Her legacy will carry on through her family and friends and their irreplaceable memories. We mourn our loss but celebrate Mary’s impactful life and that she is united in Heaven with loved ones and the Lord. May she rest in peace.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Spina Bifida of Greater St. Louis in Mary Louise’s honor.
A visitation for Mary’s family and friends to gather and share memories will be held on Monday March 20, 2026, at Nazareth Living Center from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Graveside service and subsequent interment in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, alongside her beloved husband, the late Frank.
