Matthew P. (“Matt”) Hopfinger

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Matt Hopfinger passed away on March 22, 2022, at the age of 65.

He worked as an electrician and was a member of IBEW Local #1.  Matt was an avid reader and enjoyed playing sports and games.  Fond memories of Matt organizing our cousins’ softball team that played in Forest Park in the 1980s, as well as his helping family and friends with various projects over the years, lending his strength and expertise to those of us less skilled.

Matt is preceded in death by his parents Philip and Patricia Hogan Hopfinger, and his sister Tammy Hopfinger.  He is survived by his brother Mark Hopfinger, sister Teri Hopfinger Gaffney, nephew Kyle Gaffney, nieces Bridget Gaffney Linders (Will), Katherine Hopfinger Vahdani (Chris), and Melissa Hopfinger (Sarah Czirr).

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics Missouri, the American Diabetes Association, or the American Heart Association.

A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Valley Park, Missouri on April 5, 2022 at 6PM.
