Obituary

Michael Joseph Bader, a cherished member of the St. Louis community, was born on November 19, 1945, in Saint Louis, Missouri. He passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026, in Saint Louis City, Missouri, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication that will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Michael was a respected property manager for Mercantile Trust, where he demonstrated a commitment to excellence in his career. He earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration, which laid the foundation for his professional accomplishments. Michael's lifelong dedication extended beyond his career, as he was actively involved in the VFW and Elks Organizations, contributing to his community and supporting fellow veterans.

In April of 1966, Michael enlisted in the Navy, serving his country with honor until his discharge in January of 1970. His military service exemplified his character and dedication, traits that he carried into all aspects of his life.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Ann (nee Kirk) Bader, and his devoted son, Drew (Stacey) Bader. He was a cherished grandfather to Grant, Mason, Clark, and Lydia Bader, who brought immense joy to his life. Michael will also be deeply missed by his dear brother, Larry (Debra) Bader, and his sisters, Connie (nee Bader) Boaz and Melissa (nee Bader) Bohlmann and a treasured uncle to Penny (Rob) Hauser, Matthew (Paige) Bohlmann, Katie Bader, and Nicholas Bohlmann.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Betty (nee Rick) Bader, whose love and guidance shaped the man he became.

Funeral services for Michael will be held on February 2, 2026. The visitation will take place at Christ Memorial Lutheran Church in St. Louis from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service starting at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
