Michael "Mike" P. McGinnis

Michael "Mike" McGinnis passed away on Thursday July 4, 2024, at the age of 73. Beloved husband and best friend for 53 years of Linda S. McGinnis, nee Matheis; dear son of Marie Mroz and the late Timothy McGinnis; dear son-in-law of he late Theresa Matheis; our dear brother-in-law, nephew, cousin, and friend. 

Mike was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1951 and graduated Cleveland High School class of 1969. Following his schooling, Mike's career took him to Barnes Jewish Hospital where he would work until his retirement. When he was away from work, Mike loved to scuba dive and had the opportunity to dive in amazing locations such as Aruba, Australia, and the Caribbean.

Mike is remembered, mainly, for his kindness and wonderful personality. Mike was a very kind giver and had a great sense of humor. He was adventurous and loved to try new things. Mike will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Louis University Hospital Abdominal Transplant Department or American Diabetes Association.

Mike's visitation will be held on Tuesday July 9, 2024, at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. His funeral will be held the following morning, July 10, at 11:00 a.m., with a one-hour visitation held prior, also at the funeral home.
