April 7, 1938 — November 3, 2023

Emblem

Hinkamp, Norman Alphonse passed away on Friday November 3, 2023, at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Carolyn Hinkamp (nee, Baranovic) for over 55 years; cherished son, brother, Godfather, uncle, great-uncle, and great-great-uncle, and friend to many.

Norman graduated from Bayless High School before going on to work for Western Electric, which became Lucent Technologies. When Lucent Technologies became AT&T, Norman continued with the company for many years until his retirement. He remained an active member of the AT&T Retirees community. Similarly, Norman continued to be involved in the Bayless Alumni Association throughout his life, holding many friendships in both organizations.

Norman loved dogs, especially Irish Setters, and was even known to breed Cockapoos. Norman was a fan, as most St. Louisans, of the St.  Louis Cardinals baseball and Blues hockey teams and was even a season ticket holder for the Blues, from the inaugural season to the mid-seventies. He was also a fan of traveling, his favorite places including Saugatuck, Michigan and the Smokey Mountains in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. He was known to love his cars and jewelry. However, Norman was probably best known for his involvement in the lives of his nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Canine Companions North Central or Duo Dogs, Inc.
