Patricia Ann Jasper-Blood

January 27, 1929 — July 25, 2023

Saint Louis County

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, July 25, 2023, age 94.  Beloved wife of late Richard E. Jasper for 52 years and the late Francis X. Blood for 5 years.  Beloved mother of Terri (Mike) Wagaman, Julie ( the late Bill) Alessi, Linda (John) Ederle, and Rick (Sue) Jasper.  Beloved grandmother of 19 and Gigi Pat of 24.  Beloved sister of Mary Lou (Jack) Meagher and the late Jack Camenzind (the late Marge).  Beloved stepmother of Mary Pat (Stephen) Sutton, Rev. Monsignor Francis X. Blood and Thomas (Christine) Blood.  Our dear aunt, great aunt, cousin, and friend.

After her family, Pat had 2 other passions - the first being her faith.  After Rick started grade school, Pat went back to school herself.  She never had the opportunity to attend college after high school so she was starting from the beginning.  It took 7 years but she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Theology and English.  She used her degree in running the RCIA, Parish School of Religion, and other adult religious education classes at Assumption.

Pat was the driving force in bringing the Eucharist Adoration Chapel to Assumption.  She also ran it for 20 years.  The Chapel became the model for many parishes throughout the diocese.  Pat was always willing to share her knowledge and insight to help get the new Chapels up and running.

Pat’s other passion was flowers and her yard.  When we lived in Indian Hills, she was one of the founders of the garden club.  Her yard was beautiful ( we were never allowed to play ball in it! ) and she worked in it every night after dinner til it was dark.

When we moved to Heather Heights in 1969, the following year she started a new chapter.  The garden club is still active today.  Her yard was a showplace - often being on tour and winning several awards for its variety of flowers and design.  Pat was also president of the Southwest Circle from 1992 - 1993.
