Petrit Beka

Petrit Beka (54) entered into rest on the 16th day of February 2024. 

Petrit Beka was born in Tropojë, Albania on August 5th, 1969. He served in the Albanian Army for two years. He came to America in 1990 where he explored living in new cities including New York and Detroit until ultimately calling St. Louis his forever home. He was a devoted worker who spent nearly 25 years as head baker at the historic St. Louis Donut Drive-In.

In his free time, Petrit enjoyed life's simple pleasures. This included things like taking walks with his dog, Drako, spending weekends at the lake, exploring new parks in St. Louis and above all, spending every opportunity creating memories with his children, grandchildren, family, and friends. Petrit was the kind of friend who anyone could count on. He was always one call away and would show up with a smile on his face ready to give you the shirt off his back.

Petrit is survived by his family and friends which include Cheryl Jerden of St. Louis, his daughter Sara (Logan) Mitchell, his son Thomas (Ariana) Jerden and his daughters Sarah Jerden and Carol Beka. He also leaves behind three young grandchildren, Claire and Sullivan Mitchell and Ariella Jerden.

Petrit was a pillar of strength and comfort for his family. His presence, humor, selflessness, and love will be greatly missed.

To honor the life of Petrit, there will be a visitation on Tuesday, February 20 at 11am-1pm at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons City Chapel at 7027 Gravois Ave. 63116. Services will begin at 1pm also at the funeral home. Interment will be at Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery & Mausoleum immediately after the service.
