Phyllis Rose Rohlmann, nee Hess, passed away on Thursday May 15, 2025, at the age of 78. Beloved wife of the the late Allen J. Rohlmann; cherished mother of Christine (Raul) Verduzco and Rachel (Jon) Adams; blessed grandmother of Jasmine (Katerina) Emmons, Tristan Verduzco, Hope Verduzco, Abigail Adams, and Andrew Adams; and dear sister of Ken Hess. Phyllis is also survived by many other relatives and dear friends.
Phyllis was born, brining in the bloom of the St. Louis Spring season, in 1947 to parents Phillip and Rose, nee Kovach, Hess. Phyllis would grow up in the South St. Louis area, and graduate Affton High School, class of 1965, her alumna status a point of pride which she held throughout her fulfilling life. Following her education, Phyllis was a homemaker for many years until she found a career as administrative assistant at Roma Pizza Shell Company until her retirement. Outside of her dedication to her work, Phyllis was also heavily invested in her church, the New Apostolic Church. She was known to be an incredibly active and dedicated member of her local church, her love for The Lord and her community evident in every interaction.
In her free time, Phyllis found great joy in growing her collections in her home, and, in quieter moments, she found great satisfaction in crocheting, especially making blankets. Phyllis is also remembered for her love of dogs and old movies. She was known to be a practical woman who was able to find enjoyment and peace in the beautiful simplicities that life and God have to offer.
Above all, Phyllis is remembered for the love she held for her family. The legacy that they carry on and the memories that they hold will be cherished for years to come. May Phyllis rest in peace, reunited with her husband, family, and Lord.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Stray Rescue of St. Louis or Needy Paws Animal Shelter in Phyllis's honor.
