Raymond Hemenway

Raymond W. Hemenway passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the age of 92. He was fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church. Raymond was the beloved husband of late Ann M. (nee  Hofmann) Hemenway for 57 years and a dear father to Raymond (the late Jeanelle) Hemenway and Michael (LuAnn) Hemenway. He was a cherished grandfather to Ray Hemenway, Jr., Jennifer Lazaro, Michele Cohen, Lisa (Doug) Ford, Natalie (Bob) Luzynski, Kimberly (Brad) Rutherford, Annie (Tony) Hemenway, Joseph (Ash) Thomason, and Chelsea Rangeloff. In addition to his grandchildren, Raymond was also a beloved great grandfather of 21 and a great-great-grandfather of 6. He will be fondly remembered as a loving brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Raymond led a fulfilling life enjoying deer hunting with his sons and cherished moments spent at the cabin. A talented athlete in his youth, he was known for his skills as a golden glove boxer during the 1940s.

Visitation to pay respects and offer condolences will take place on Monday, April 1, 2024 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at JOHN L. ZIEGENHEIN & SONS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL located at 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 10:00 am at the same location with interment following at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
