Reverend Willis Alspach

Departed this life on Saturday, December 5th, 2020 at the age of 91 years.  Willis Martin Alspach was born in Newark, Ohio on December 30, 1928, son of Rev. Chester B. and Ova C. (Saylor-Lehman) Alspach.  Beloved husband of the late JoAn Alden (Opp) Alspach; loving father of Ben (Janet), Scott (Susan) and Sarah (Michael Curley).  Dear grandfather, grandfather-in-law, great grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, teacher, mentor and friend.

Willis graduated from Eden Theological Seminary in 1953 and, after serving churches in Pennsylvania and Ohio, came to St. Louis in 1967 to assume the position of Senior Pastor at Redeemer Evangelical United Church of Christ in south St. Louis.  He served that congregation until his retirement in 1994.

A Celebration of Life service will be scheduled sometime in the spring.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the memorial fund of either Redeemer Evangelical Church (South Kingshighway) or St. John’s UCC (Mehlville).
