Richard was a practicing Medical Doctor for 30+ years. He ran his own practice in Campbell, MO. He worked for many years for the VA. He served as a Lieutenant Medical Officer in Vietnam. He was a member of the Bridlespur Hunt Club,  the Three-Creek-Bassets, and the La Societe Francaise.

Family and friends to gather at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons Funeral Home (4830 Lemay Ferry Road) on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at 11:45am to travel in procession to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery for a 12:30 committal service.
