Ronald Diederichs

Ronald E. Diederichs, 89, passed into God’s loving arms on August 29, 2022. Ron was the son of the late Edwin A. and the late Anna F., nee Boeckelmann. He was the proud papa of his dear canine companion Koenig who is lost without him.

Ron was a veteran of the US Army serving overseas in Panama for 2 years. He earned his BA from Harris-Stowe University, his master’s degree from St. Louis University, and his PhD from Harris-Stowe in education and philosophy. He was a retired educator who gave 100% to teaching and was completely dedicated to his students. While teaching at Harris-Stowe Ron was the Vice President of Student Affairs. He was a long-time member of Epiphany Lutheran Church and leaves behind a loving church family. Ron enjoyed listening to classical music and the Lutheran Radio Hour. He enjoyed reading non-fiction history books and had a special interest in the Royal Family of Great Britain and the Titanic. He will be truly missed by many including John and Helen Pond, who are caring for Koenig, and Fred and Marie Kossman. Ron’s legacy is truly written in the many lives that he touched while teaching.

Memorials are appreciated to Epiphany Lutheran Church or Stray Rescue of St. Louis .

Visitation will be from 10am-12pm, Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at John L. Ziegenhein Funeral Home Chapel, 7027 Gravois Ave. St. Louis, Missouri 63116. Funeral service will begin at 12pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Concordia Cemetery
