With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Ronald D. Reichard, a dedicated musician and cherished friend, who left us on May 27, 2024. Born to the late Roy E. Reichard and Marie D. Reichard, Ronald’s life was a melody composed of joy, passion, and an enduring love for the Big Band Era.
Preceded in death by his sister, Judy L. Cognac nee Reichard, Ronald’s legacy continues through his beloved niece, Kristy M. (Mark) Creighton, and his great-nephews and niece, Dylan J., Connor S., and Rhiannon S. Creighton. His memory will also be treasured by his dear friends Ellen Embry and Knez Jakovac, along with countless others touched by his musical journey.
Ronald’s life was a symphony of varied interests. A huge Bing Crosby fan, he was known for his eclectic decorating, his role as an antiquarian, and his expertise in the popular standards of yesteryears. His voice brought the golden age of jazz to life, especially in local nursing homes, where his performances rekindled the cherished memories of dementia patients—a cause close to his heart.
An absolute foodie, Ronald delighted in discovering new culinary experiences and sharing them with loved ones. His reviews were more than critiques; they were narratives of taste and enjoyment that he joyfully passed on.
Ronald’s absence leaves a silence that will be deeply felt by all who knew him. Yet, in the echoes of his favorite tunes, we find comfort, knowing that his spirit continues to inspire and uplift us.

“Music was his life, and the lyrics were his story.”
Rest in harmony, Ronald.
