Rosemarie "Oma" Sayer

April 13, 1932 — July 29, 2025

Surrounded by the boundless love of her family, Rosemarie Sayer passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the age of 93. Her loving care, curiosity, and zest for life leaves behind an everlasting imprint on all who knew her.

Born to the late Wilhelm and Luise Pflueger (née Litchenberger), Rosemarie was the beloved wife of the late Eugene Sayer, with whom she shared an extraordinary 47 years of marriage—a partnership rooted in shared adventures, international travel, and unwavering love for their children and grandchildren. Together they built a rich life filled with joy, laughter, and exploration.

She was a devoted mother to Barbara Vaswani (née Sayer) and Christof Sayer, and a treasured mother-in-law to Niju Vaswani and Gelene Strecker-Sayer, respectively. Rosemarie beamed with pride for her grandchildren—Anjali Vaswani, Delilah Sayer, and Lenore Sayer—who inherited her gentle spirit, deep curiosity, and joyful heart.

Rosemarie’s passion for nature was woven into the everyday magic of her life. With childlike wonder and a keen eye, she lovingly collected plants, rocks, seed pods, and leaves—each item a memory, a marvel, a story waiting to be told. She taught those around her that nature was not just something to observe but to cherish and study, with reverence and appreciation. A gifted artist and soulful observer of the world, Rosemarie delighted in taking photographs, creating colorful oil paintings, and delicate watercolors, often inspired by the natural landscapes she traversed.

To her family, she was the radiant center of a loving universe. To the world, she was a spirited force of imagination and joy. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, quirkiness, and creativity will live on in those she inspired.
