Rosemary Elizabeth Littlefield was born in Brazil, Indiana on November 4, 1938 to Lula (Dean) and William J. Knierim and passed away May 8th, 2025 in St. Louis at Cardinal Ritter’s Mary Queen & Mother Center where she had only been for about 2 weeks. Previously, she had lived at Mother of Perpetual Help in their assisted living apartments, since Dec. 2022.

She was the fifth of six children including Catherine (Sister Imelda), Theresa, William Jr., Nancy (Sister Bernadine), and Patrick. All predecease her except Sister Bernadine of Cleveland, OH. She also has a sister-in-law, Janella Knierim, Brazil, IN and a niece, Michele Neese and husband, Gary, Poland, IN as well as nephew Mike Knierim, Florida, niece Lisa Ivanov, Virginia and nephew Kevin Knierim, Massachusetts… and several great and great-great nephews and nieces.

She graduated from Schulte High School in Terre Haute, IN in June, 1956. Shortly after graduation, she and her sister Nancy moved to St. Louis where they both worked for Southwestern Bell. She worked there from May 1957 to Dec 1994….37 ½ years. She married Charles F. Littlefield in 1965 and spent the remainder of her life in St. Louis. He passed away June 9, 2012. His son, Bruce Littlefield, also passed Nov 27, 2022.

Everyone knew Rosemary for her smile, fun attitude and constant compliments. She was a loving and devoted wife. She would often travel back, by Greyhound bus (she never had a driver’s license) to Indiana for the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival and to visit relatives. She was active in her church and had many friends over the years.

Visitation will be at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church at 5020 Rhodes Ave in St. Louis, MO from 9:30-10:30am on Wednesday, May 28th with a Mass following at 10:30.

A private burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks Military Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road, St Louis.
