Rosina M. Brendel

November 9, 1952 — February 24, 2024

St. Louis

Rosina Marie Brendel, nee Jaques, passed away on Saturday February 24, 2024, at the age of 71. Preceded in death by her parents William Jaques and Roxie Bauer as well as her stepfather Elmer Bauer. Rosina is survived by her loving husband Dave Brendel; cherished children Rebecca (Kaseen) Isaac and Anthony “Boo” “Tony” Brendel; blessed step grandchildren Kayla Isaac and Kaseen Isaac; many siblings; and many other relatives and dear friends.

We remember Rosina for her colorful life and artistic spirit and hobbies. Working as a high school art teacher for 39 years before her retirement from Nottingham CAJT High School, Rosina was able to share her love of art and inspiration with many students and their families.

Outside of work, Rosina could be found attempting any and all artistic crafts that she could find. From jewelry making and sewing to crocheting, drawing, and painting, Rosina loved to immerse herself in her craft projects.

She also loved to shop, especially at JoAnn’s Fabrics where she could find new craft supplies or at yard sales where she might find new and unique treasures to take home or share. Rosina was also known to love to go out to supper with her family and friends. She and her beloved husband, Dave, were regulars at Pietro’s whom the staff were always eager to see. Rosina also extended her time and talents selling at the St.  Louis Pagan Picnic every summer for over 20 years.

Other than her artistic skill and soul, Rosina will also be remembered for her dedication, especially to her son, Boo. For many years, she would advocate for his wellbeing and could often be seen taking him to his Challenger Baseball games and other sporting events, doctor’s appointments, and organization meetings and events.

While she will be remembered for a variety of aspects throughout her life, Rosina will be remembered, above all, for the love that she held for her favorite way to spend time—with her loving, tight-knit family.

Rosina’s visitation will be held on Wednesday February 28, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South City Chapel 7027 Gravois Ave. St. Louis, MO 63116. Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. the following afternoon, February 29, also at the funeral home.
