Ruth Jourden

Ruth Caroline Augusta Jourden (nee Staas) passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 19, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones at home. Beloved wife of the late Ralph G. Jourden. Cherished mother of Ralph W. (the late Christine), Larry (Marie), and David Jourden, and Susan Lewis. Loving grandmother of Nicole Lewis, Kevin, Keith (Christina), Jessica, Megan, and Ethan Jourden. Sister-in-law of Alice Staas, Iris and Preston Koprivica, the late Richard and Peggy Jourden, Treasured aunt, great aunt, cousin, and dear friend too many. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Walter A. and Elsie Staas, and her brother Walter T. Staas.

Ruth was devoted to taking care of her family throughout life. After raising her children, she cared for both of her parents until the end of their lives.

Ruth regularly created items of love for her family and friends, which were enjoyed by all. Be it gardening, baking, cooking, sewing, or quilting; she enjoyed keeping her hands active in her spare time.

Ruth will be remembered as selfless. Full of love and life. A firecracker. And she will be terribly missed.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 28, 2021, 4-8 p.m. at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons. And on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at Eden U.C.C. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park.

Ruth was a member of the Eden U.C.C. Women’s Fellowship. Memorials to Eden U.C.C. or the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.
