Ruth Stoehr

Ruth E. Stoehr (nee Pillmann)  on  Nov. 27, 2019 at the age of 99; dearest wife of the late Rowland G. Stoehr; devoted mother of Nancy R. McComb, Douglas E. (Susan) Stoehr and Robert O. (Marlene) Stoehr; loving grandmother of 8, great-grandmother of 2, and aunt and friend.

Ruth was born in St. Louis in 1920.  She grew up on Michigan Avenue and graduated from Cleveland High School.  She was a member of the Vogue’s, a sorority where she developed life-long friends.  Ruth’s first date with next door neighbor Rowland was on a tennis court, beginning a life-long romance.  Ruth raised a family and managed a household in Pittsburgh, PA and New Canaan CT, retiring near the beach in Hilton Head, SC before returning to St. Louis in 1992.  She always made the world a better place wherever she was; running a non-profit consignment shop, growing and nurturing a Senior Citizen Center, and inspiring all with her ordered, faithful, confident, and optimistic view of life.

We are all the better because of Ruth.
