Obituary

Sharon Louise Reehten, nee Murray, entered eternal rest peacefully on Friday November 28, 2025, at the age of 73 surrounded by her family. Dear wife of and reunited with the late Eugene F. Reehten Jr; beloved mother of Annette Lattray, Christeen Lattray, Michelle Lattray, Jill Reehten, and David Reehten; as well as a cherished grandmother.

Sharon was born May 13, 1952, down in Alabama, to Louise Murray, nee Tucker. She was adopted by Charles Murray as a child, and he became the loving father and support to her mother and siblings Charles and Wanda. Sharon spent many years serving the community in the restaurant business, culminating in her proud achievement of becoming the owner of her own establishment. This dedication to her profession not only showcased her entrepreneurial spirit but also her commitment to providing warmth and hospitality to all who entered her doors.

A proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Sharon embraced the values of service and community, further demonstrating her unwavering dedication to helping others. She was a spirited country girl at heart, and Sharon found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in music, the classic country of Loretta Lynn and Tammie Wynett. Her warm personality and joyful spirit shone brightly, leaving enduring memories with all who had the privilege of knowing her. Sharon could be challenging to get along with as she had a stubborn streak. But she was still loved and respected by many in her lifetime. Sharon was not only a fixture in the culinary world but also a treasured resident of Pine Grove Manor. During the final year of her life, Sharon's presence at the facility touched the hearts of those around her and she will be greatly missed by her newly acquired friends, especially her roommate Pat H. May Sharon rest in peace.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Pine Grove Manor Activity Fund to continue enriching our senior residents' lives.

A visitation for Sharon’s family and friends to gather and share memories will be held on Monday January 5, 2026, at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South City Chapel 7027 Gravois Ave. St. Louis, MO 63116 from 10:30 a.m. until her funeral service at 11:30 a.m. A ceremony at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery will be held following her funeral at 1:00 p.m., with subsequent interment alongside her husband, the late Eugene.
