Sherry Lynn Manchanda, nee Cox, entered into rest on Tuesday July 2, 2024, at the age of 70. Reunited with beloved husband the late Manmohan "Mo" Manchanda, after two months and one day apart. Blessed daughter of the late Christopher Sr. and Ruth, nee Lehmann, Cox; devoted mother of children Jessica and Jake Milot and bonus children Sugar and Daniel Manchanda; cherished grandmother of Frankie Hornburg, Josh Hornburg, Lucas Milot, Oliver Milot, and Parker Milot; dear sister of sister Michelle Cooke, beloved brother Christopher Cox Jr., and dear sister-in-law of Sharon Cox; loving aunt to Rebecca Redd and Randy Redd. Sherry is also survived and treasured by many other relatives and dear friends, whom she would eagerly treat like family.
Sherry, alongside her late husband Mo, was the owner and operator of Hi-Way Florist, a fundamental fixture of South St. Louis City for over a century. Through her business, Sherry was able to make innumerable connections and friends. These friendships, big and small, short and long, would all mean the world to Sherry.
Sherry is remembered for her immeasurable kindness and love she held for others. She was an incredibly kind soul who would give the clothes off of her own back and stop at nothing to help another find happiness. Sherry was also a gifted story teller, sharing her experiences and knowledge with anyone who held a listening ear. In calmer moments, Sherry could be found happily playing cards and cooking with her adoring family.
Our loss is mourned, but may Sherry's fulfilling, loving life be celebrated. May she rest in peace.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Home Sweet Home or The Backstoppers in honor of Sherry.
A celebration of Sherry's life will be held on Sunday, July 21 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at American Legion Hall Post 111, 7300 Lansdowne Ave. St. Louis, MO 63119.
