On Saturday, November 15, 2025, Steven Ray Mueller peacefully entered the arms of his Maker in Heaven at the age of 63. Steven was a man whose heart overflowed with kindness, generosity, and love; a true light in the lives of all who knew him.
Born to the late Kenneth and Mary Joyce Mueller, Steven grew up surrounded by family and faith. He was the devoted and beloved husband of Marshall Matthews Rowland, with whom he shared a life filled with laughter, unwavering support, and deep affection. Steven was a cherished brother to Karen (Tim) Brammeier, Ron (Amy) Mueller, Brenda (Randy) Kenner, and is reunited in Heaven with his brother Kenneth Carl (Karen) Mueller Jr. and sister Norma Jean Mueller. His circle of love extended beyond family to dear friends, including his longtime companion in friendship, Bradley Harmon. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends.
Steven’s love for animals was unmatched. He was a proud dog dad to Deus and Rex and held a special place in his heart for his late cat, Angel. His compassion for all living beings reflected his gentle spirit and caring nature.
A proud United States Air Force veteran, Steven served his country with honor and continued his commitment to fellow servicemen and women through his involvement with Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. His voice was strong; not only in service but in advocacy. Steven spoke boldly and passionately for the LGBT community, standing as a beacon of courage and equality.
He found joy in life’s simple pleasures: playing poker and card games with family, sharing laughter over a game of Talisman, and creating memories that will live on in the hearts of those he loved. Steven was deeply rooted in faith as a longtime member of the Episcopal Church, and his life was a testament to grace, generosity, and devotion.
Above all, Steven was a man who loved fiercely; his husband, his family, his friends, and his animals. His legacy is one of love, service, and strength. Though our hearts ache with his absence, we celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the countless ways he touched our lives.
