Carney, Tillman P. departed from this world on Tuesday September 12, 2023, at the age of 89. Tillman was a cherished husband for 57 years to the late Jessea L. Carney, nee Crowder. His love and dedication as a father were evident in his relationship with his three daughters: Linda (James) Sneed, Karen (Robert) Emig, and Cynthia (John A.) Gipson. He brought immeasurable joy as a grandfather to Rebecca (Joel) Hampton, Traci (Nicholas) Rice, Matthew (Meghan) Emig, Ashley Emig, Sarah Gipson, Jordan Gipson, Emelya Gipson, and Jayden Gipson. Tillman was also blessed to be great-grandfather to Kyler, Madaleigh, Ezekiel, and Ellie. In addition to being a loving family man, Tillman was lovingly known as Uncle Pudge by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Ethel Carney, nee McKinney, and his siblings Robert Moyie "Bud," Franklin Carney, and Shirley LaFerney. Though he will be deeply missed by those who knew him best, Tillman leaves behind lasting memories in the hearts of countless friends and other relatives.
In Cleveland High School's halls of learning, Tillman was an esteemed graduate who maintained strong ties to his alma mater, remaining actively engaged with the Alumni Association. Throughout his professional life, Tillman worked in management in the HVAC Commercial field, dedicating his skills until his well-deserved retirement. After his retirement, he served on the Advisory Board for a Healthcare organization. In leisurely moments, Tillman relished cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals and embarking on many memorable Caribbean and Hawaiin cruises with his beloved family. His unwavering faith in God served as the guiding light in his life, as he found immense comfort in his faith. Above all, Tillman's most treasured moments were spent with his family, where he demonstrated boundless love as a father, devoted grandfather, great-grandfather, and affectionately known as dear Uncle Pudge.

Friends and loved ones are invited to attend the visitation on Tuesday September 19, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel, located at 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. St. Louis, MO 63129. The funeral service will take place the following morning at 11:00 a.m., also at the funeral home. Tillman will be laid to rest in the serene grounds of Park Lawn Cemetery next to his wife, Jessea.
