Verna Sue Immethun

Verna Sue (Dinkins) Immethun, 79, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on Sunday June 11, 2023. Verna was born Nov. 10, 1943, in Ironton, MO, daughter of Thurman Willard Dinkins and Iness Frieda (Snelson Alumbaugh) Dinkins.

Preceeding Verna in death are parents the late Thurman Dinkins & the late Iness Dinkins, brother the late Ronald D. Dinkins and the late Charles L. (Clarene) Dinkins, sister the late Louella (Rico) Payton, sister-in-law the late Charline (Junior) Dinkins, and brother-in-law the late Larry (Debra) Campbell.

Remaining to cherish Verna’s memory are her husband of 59 years, Louis;her four children, Donna Graf, Brian (Tracy) Immethun, Cathe (Charles) Voege, and Joseph (Jill) Immethun; grandchildren Stephanie Graf (Michael Harper), Zachary (Tisha) Sturdevant, Tyler Immethun, Mallory Immethun, Aaron (Katie) Voege, Dale Voege, Reagan Immethun,, Harrison Immethun, and Carter Immethun; great-grandchildren Austin Harper, Mackenzie Harper, Rylynn Sturdevant, and Hudson Sturdevant. She is survived by two sisters, Jessie (J.T.) Moody and Debra Campbell, and two brothers, Thurman “Junior” Dinkins, Jr. and Donald (Theresa) Dinkins, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

To honor Verna’s love of genealogy, family, and all children, it is requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in support to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.

A visitation will be held 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South City Chapel, 7027 Gravois Ave. St. Louis, MO 63116, followed by procession from the funeral home to Resurrection Cemetery for 12:00 p.m. graveside service.
