Virginia “Ginny” Louise Haselhorst, nee Wiengardt, Asleep in Jesus on Friday June 21, 2024, at the age of 92. Reunited in Heaven with beloved husband, the late Peter M. Haselhorst, and dear siblings the late Oliver, the late Betty, the late Connie, the late Charles, and the late Jane. Ginny is survived by cherished children Nancy (Tony Arguello) Haselhorst and James (Colleen) Haselhorst as well as many other family members, who remember her as a devoted grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great aunt, and great-great-aunt. Ginny is also remembered by the staff and residents at Southview Assisted Living, who became her second family.
Ginny held love for a variety of hobbies, but she is remembered for her fondness for games and events that involved gambling. She can be remembered as attending the Southview Bingos or card games with family, but she was particularly fond of horse races and placing bets and loved her daily scratch off tickets. Ginny is also remembered, as a born and raised St. Louisan, as a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
Ginny’s bright spirit will be missed by all who have had the blessing of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Susan G. Komen in Ginny’s name.
A special thank you to members of the Crossroads Hospice team who assisted Ginny until her final moments
