Walter Joseph Deckert



Walter Joseph Deckert born October 15, 1938, went home to God on April 15, 2023.

Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, MaryAnn; beloved father of Sharon Ann (Jeffrey) Sheldon, William Joseph (Eileen) Deckert, and Linda Jean (Ryan) McCay; cherished grandfather of Alexandra Hirth, Louise Deckert, Lizzie Deckert, Rebecca Sheldon, Bradley Sheldon, Patrick McCay, Michael McCay, Owen McCay, and Lily McCay; Dear siblings Jean (Charles) Ward, Dr. James (Linda) Deckert 

Loving nieces and nephews Michael and Scott Ward; Jennifer ( Andre Megerdichian) Deckert; Christopher (Sarah) Deckert; Claire, Julia, and Matthew Deckert.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents Walter J. & Mary (Mrazek) Deckert.

Walter served in the United States Airforce Communications and Electronics Division.  He retired from IBM Corporation after 25 years of service as a customer engineer.  Walter was a member of the Meramec Elks Lodge 232, loved living with MaryAnn at their Lakeside home, fishing and bird watching. He will be missed.

Visitation Thursday, April 20, 2023,  from 10:00 am until Mass at 11:00 am 

St. Wenceslaus Parish Church, 3014 Oregon Avenue, Saint Louis, MO 63118.
