Wilbert "Moe" Meyer

August 2, 1930 — February 5, 2023

Wilbert “Moe” J. Meyer, passed away on the 5th day of February 2023 at the age of 92. Son of the late, Albert H. and the late Agnes, nee Bossung, Meyer, father of; Edward (Chiharu) Meyer, Richard (Vickie) Meyer, and Linda Meyer, grandfather of; Joelle (Michael) Harting, James (Sarah) Meyer, Megan (David) Rand, Mason (Maggie) Meyer, and Amelia Prouhet, great grandfather of; Joe, Marley, Blake, Haley, Zach, Chase, Gabe, Cora, Alexandria, Tommy, Jonathan, Harper, Levi, and Henry, brother of; the late Eugene Meyer, the late Edwin Meyer, the late Rosemary Chafin, and the late Loretta Kovach. He is also survived by many other relatives.

Moe was an Air Force Veteran and a member of the American Legion 40/8. He retired as a building inspector from the City of St. Louis. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. Moe was a member St. John Paul II Catholic Church. He was a mechanic of every type of internal combustible engine from the 40/8 locomotive to a lawn mower.

Memorials are appreciated in lieu of flowers to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital .

Visitation will be from 9-11am, Monday, February 13, 2023, at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, 4980 Hegee Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63123. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately following at 11am. Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
