Willaim "Bill" R. Esswein entered into rest at home surrounded by loved ones on Saturday September 21, 2024, at the age of 61. Devoted husband of Terri Esswein, nee Belmar; beloved father of Randy, Andrew, Alicia, Matthew, and the late Tasha; cherished grandfather of Taylor, "Tony," Faith, "Becca", and Colton; blessed great-grandfather; dear brother of John (Mary); beloved uncle of Maria and Anna; and dear friend to many.
Bill was born early October 1962 in St. Louis, Missouri, to parents the late Richard and the late Lotus "Bunny," nee Ellis, Esswein. Bill would receive his education at St. Stephen school before going on to graduate from St. Mary's High School. Following his schooling, Bill volunteered his time and knowledge at the St. Louis Police Academy before establishing his career working for his beloved hometown, the City of St. Louis where he would ultimately become Labor Foreman Supervisor. When Bill was not working to assist his city, Bill enjoyed spending his free time outdoors fishing, hunting, and exploring the natural beauty in local and state parks. He also found enjoyment in studying history and was fascinated by old, classic cars. The enjoyment that Bill found in his hobbies would only be amplified when he shared them alongside his family.
Bill had a great love for God, and was blessed with an incredible presence and sense of humor that he loved to share with his family and friends. God's love was made known through Bill and was known especially to his kids and grandkids, whom he cherished and made many memories with. Bill touched many lives throughout his blessed life, and will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
