William Moran (Der Kaiser)

November 4, 1926 — February 13, 2022

Moran, William J. (Der Kaiser) Fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church on February 13, 2022, at the age of 95. Beloved husband of Joanne Moran nee Bugel, dearest father of Kathleen (Tom) Schutz, cherished Opa of Jay Mollet, Mia (fiancé Patrick Murphy) Schutz, Patrick Schutz, Andrew Schutz, dear brother in law of Thomas (Shirley) Bugel, and dear brother of the late Lois Moran. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Bill proudly served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean war and served in the US Air Force during the cold war. He was an Eagle Scout, member of the Order of the Arrow, Deutscher Maennerchor, and was an NHL official for 25 years. He retired from the NGA after 52 years. Bill enjoyed traveling, and a good German beer. He loved God, his family, and his country.

In lieu of flowers Masses preferred, or Memorial donations may be made to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, or James S. McDonald USO.

Services:  Visitation at JOHN L. ZIEGENHEIN & SONS FUNERAL HOMES, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road on Sunday, February 20, 2022, from 4- 8pm. Mass 9:30am Monday February 21, 2022, at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
