Carl H. Gabel passed away on July 10, 2021. Dedicated husband to Mary Gabel for 58 years. Father to Jeffrey (Wendy), James (Christie), and John (Kristie). Grandfather to Joshua, Jessica, Tyler, Logan, Delanie and Faith. Brother to the late Margaret Montileone, the late Alberta Gabel, and the late George Gabel. Loving Uncle to Mark and Ralph Montileone Jr., Janet Ard, Renee Harms, Kevin and Kenny Gabel, Michael, David, Danny and the late Janet Aschenbrenner, Susan Leicht, Sandy Young, Ricky and the late Mark Voss. Carl served in the United States Army and was retired from Yellow Freight after 36 years. He was a member of the Crestwood Elks, Lodge 2503. His great passion was serving on the committee of Boy Scout Troop 671 for over 37 years. Carl was a devoted veteran, and volunteered at the Jefferson Barracks V.A. Hospital, where he was instrumental in a complete remodel and makeover of the original bowling alley helping disabled vets with rehabilitation. Carl had an unmatched love of the outdoors, and especially our National Symbol, the Bald Eagle. In Carl’s Memory, please donate to Friends of Boy Scout Troop 671.
