Carl Safarik

Safarik, Carl D. suddenly asleep in Jesus on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at age 83.  Beloved husband of Nancy D. Safarik (nee Florian) for 62 years.   Beloved father of Karen Anne Owen (David) of St. Louis, MO; Janice Caroline Westpfahl (Dean) of Bloomington, IL; and Kathleen Nancy Aubuchon (Chris Knight) of Farmington, MO. Loving grandfather of Matthew Owen (Emily), Sarah Owen Rosendahl (Chris), Amanda Westpfahl Speiser (David), Rachel Westpfahl, Samuel Westpfahl, Laura Westpfahl, Joseph Westpfahl, Christian Aubuchon, Adrean Aubuchon and Addison Aubuchon. Dear great-grandfather of Wyatt Rosendahl, Noah Speiser and Jacob Speiser. Dear son of the late Charles and Anne Safarik (nee Wisnich). Dear brother of the late Gerald W. Safarik (Paula surviving).

Carl was graduated from E. St. Louis Sr. High School, SIU Carbondale Undergraduate and attended graduate school. He was employed by IBM Corporation, retired in 1994 and then retired again from Merrill Lynch in 2007.  Carl enjoyed extensive travel throughout Europe, Canada, Mexico and USA along with several cruises. He and Nancy are residents of Friendship Village, Sunset Hills, MO. Carl was a long-time member of Concord Trinity United Methodist Church, church choir concert committee and various church committees.

Services:  Visitation Wednesday, (6/29/2022) from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Concord Trinity UMC, 5275 South Lindbergh Blvd. (63126).  Visitation Thursday, (6/30/2022) from 10:00 am until time of Funeral services at Concord Trinity UMC at 11:00 am followed by entombment at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
