Catherine Costello

Costello, Catherine “Katie” of Columbia, IL born July 7, 1936, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 29, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church.

Katie was a devoted and loving wife of 40 years to the late Robert “Bob” Costello, a beloved mother to her three children; Terry (Ron) Bieg, Bob (Bonnie) Costello and Donna Barton, beloved Mamaw to her grandchildren; Ashley (Brian), Michael (Ali), Bobby, Andy, Joey, Katie, Maria, and Alex, and beloved Great Mamaw to her great grandchildren; Maggie, Ava, Nick, Ella and Dean, along with many other cherished relatives and dear friends.

Katie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Inez Ambrose, her husband and her son-in-law, Tom Barton.

Katie enjoyed and treasured the time she spent with her family and friends. She loved playing games, shopping, traveling, and going to the casino. Katie will be deeply loved and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 9370 Olive Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63132.

Services: Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2022, from 9:00 am until time of Service at 11:00 am at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63129. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
