Donald Clair

Donald A. Clair, loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather passed from this life on December 20, 2021 at the age of 71. Don was born on November 15, 1950 to Tom and Erma Clair of Ash Grove, Missouri.

A proud veteran, Don served his country with honor in the Vietnam War. Upon completion of his military service, he began a distinguished career with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. This career took him across the country, where he continually worked to advance, beginning as a guard and retiring in 2000 as a substance abuse counselor. Never content to simply “retire”, Don continued to work for the betterment of all those with whom he came into contact.

Post retirement, Don began working with the Anthony Robbins Foundation as the program director, where he developed rehabilitation programs for inmates in over 70 institutions worldwide. Perhaps his favorite post retirement work was with the “Gary D. Young Foundation” and “Young Living Essential Oils”. The philanthropic work of the foundation led Don to help build a K-12 grade school in Chongdon, Equador. Along with his loving wife Jane, he built a business focused not only on bettering your personal health, but on helping an individual live their best life possible. Don would consider it his greatest achievement to have helped another to attain their dreams. Don also published several books, one even in the last year of his life, a book that was dedicated to his beloved grandchildren about the lessons he has learned. Even to the very end, he wanted to leave something to enrich the lives of others. He will be greatly missed by so many.

Don was preceded in death by his father, Tom; his mother, Erma; and his sister, Beverly. He is survived by his wife, Roberta Jane; his children, JoAnn Barker (Bob) of Ash Grove, Missouri, Brenda Spieler (Nate) of Sharpsburg, Georgia, Thomas Clair (Lisa) of Ravensdale, Washington, Kevin Schilling (Jill) of Ballwin, Missouri, Matthew Clair (Sheila) of Collinsville, Illinois and Michael Clair (Breanne) of Springfield, Illinois; brother, Tommy Clair (Brenda) of Ash Grove, Missouri; sister, Barbara Langley (Claude) of Clinton, Tennessee; and 16 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 @ Faith Lutheran Church, 6101 Telegraph Road, Saint Louis, MO 63129.  Following services  Don will be laid to rest with military honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
