Thad began his life of service in 1961 as an Officer in the United States Air Force where he served as a Judge Advocate.  He was a practicing attorney for over 25 years prior to being appointed as an Associate Circuit Court Judge in 1985.  He retired from the bench in 2004 and returned to private practice for a few years.  Thad was a devoted member of Church of the Magdalen Catholic Church for over 50 years, member of the Knights of Columbus, South Side Optimists, Missouri Bar Association, ITEST, and many other clubs and community organizations.  He loved having his whole family together as often as possible and always made sure to give the grandchildren a few dollars each with instructions to “go to Ted Drewes.”  He was an avid reader, a giver of advice, a Cardinals Baseball fan, and was a teller of jokes, using his sense of humor as both a teaching tool, and a method to try to find the good in every situation.  He was loved and respected by many, both personally and professionally, and will be dearly missed.
