Jeanette Louise (nee Gengler) Behan

87, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on April 11, 2020. Loving wife of 60 years to the late Vincent Joseph Behan; beloved mother of Linda (Art) De Villar, John Behan, and William (Shannon) Behan; dear grandmother of Justin King, Lauren King, Nicholas Behan, Elizabeth Behan, William Behan, and John Behan; dear sister of the late Margaret (James) Fowler and the late Dorothy (James) Gengler; dear daughter of the late Maurice and the late Emma (nee Metcalfe) Gengler; dear friend to many.

Jeanette loved animals and enjoyed gardening so much that she won the St. Louis Hills Gardening Award. She had a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Harris-Stowe State University. She taught for several years before becoming a full time mom. She worked at the downtown St. Louis Library for quite some time, where she met her husband of 60 years, Vincent. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association.

Services: Memorial Visitation on Friday, July 17th from 10am until the time of Memorial Mass at 11am, both at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church (6303 Nottingham Ave. St. Louis, MO 63109). Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
