Kenneth L. Mitchell “chug” passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 24th, 2021.  Beloved husband of 67 years to Barbara E. Mitchell (née Womble); loving father of Bridget (Jim) Callahan, Karen (Mark) Baxter, retired SMsGT USAF Kenneth C. Mitchell, St. Louis Firefighter, John (Elaine) Mitchell; adoring grandfather of nine, and great grandfather of seventeen.  Our dearest brother, uncle, great uncle, and dear friend to many.

Kenneth was born in Morehouse, Missouri, and graduated from McKinnley High School.  He served in the 82nd Airborne U.S Army and was a fan of all sports and outdoor activities.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Bertha Mitchell, brothers Charles, WWII veteran, Floyd, killed in action WWII 1945, Melvin, WWII veteran, Jack, WWII veteran, sisters Audrey and Joyce.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until services @ 11:30 a.m. at John L. Ziegenhein South County Chapel.  In lieu of flowers contributions to Backstoppers appreciated
