On Monday June 20, 2022, Marvin Lon Turner (Sonny), passed away at the age of 86 in Port Orange, Florida from a lung disease.
Marvin was born on December 29, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri to Ora June Gipson (nee Dodge) and Marvin W. Turner.

He married Edith (Edie) Irene Brinkmann on September 10, 1960 after serving in the United States Army for four years. Marvin along with his wife enjoyed bowling, and caring for their local church.

Together, Marvin and Edie had five children, however, four did not survive. They felt compelled to adopt a 3-month old girl, Patricia Joy.
Marvin had a great sense of humor, enjoyed listening to music from the Big Band era and watching old-time movies on his favorite cable channel, Turner Classic Movies.

Marvin is predeceased by his wife, Edie, age 80. They are survived by two children, Kenneth Clyde Turner, age 59, and Patricia Joy Clague, age 49.
They have 4 grandchildren: James, Kenneth, Sierra, and Summer. They have 6 Great Grandchildren: Katelynn, Angel (deceased), Autumn, Jordan, Brayden, and Ryan.

A Celebration of Life event will be held at Ziegenhein & Sons Funeral Home Chapel South County Chapel 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63129 at 10am Friday July 1, 2022.
