Nell Hauck

March 29, 1934 — November 29, 2021

On November 29, 2021, a very special lady left this world. Freda (Nell) Hauck,
87, was born on March 29, 1934, in Tennessee to Gurley and Nancy (Keeling)
Richardson. Her two older sisters, Edith Powell (Clifford) and Doris Hunsaker
(Rudy) loved so dearly their baby sister, Nell. She married John Miller and had
her two children, Debbie & Greg. Nell’s marriage did not last forever, as
originally thought but she and John remained friends. Her life went on and
eventually met & married Ken Hauck in 1998 and she embraced his family as her
own.
Before it was known as the “Stay at home Mom” or “Soccer Mom” Nell
embodied that wholeheartedly. For Debbie it was always encouraging and
taking her to Brownies/Girl Scouts/Softball and later on all the various High
School activities. For Greg it was truly the traditional “Soccer Mom," instead
known as “Greg’s World of Sports”: Ice Hockey, Baseball, Football, Basketball,
Track Team...for his entire childhood into young adult.
She herself was always involved in many things she loved including a volleyball
team and later on after marrying Ken Hauck in 1998, they enjoyed so many
wonderful things together for years. They were on a bowling league, weekly
card games with friends, YMCA membership, Cardinal games, season tickets to
the St Louis Repertory Theatre and Muny Theatre, Sunset Social Club with
ballroom dancing, Southwest Group, Missouri Historical Society, Summer
Concerts in the Park with their favorites, Compton Heights Band and especially,
Cornet Chop Suey band, served on the Election Board for many years,
Church...
However, with all things she loved, none compared to the love she had for her
children, in-laws and most especially her grandchildren.
Nell is survived by her husband Ken Hauck and her loving children and family:
Beloved mother of Debbie Castagna/Miller (Ron), Greg Miller
Beloved step mother of Ken Hauck, Jr. (Christy)
Steve Hauck (Ashley)
Beloved mother-in-law of Lesley Triplett (James)
