Our beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Patrick passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at the age of 74.

Patrick is preceded in death by his parents John & Dorothy (nee Weaver) Whalen; brothers John Whalen (JoEllen), Jerry Whalen, Robert Whalen, sister Kathleen Lunnemann; and  sisters-in-law Mary Whalen, JoAnn Whalen and JoEllen Whalen.

He is survived by his sister Dorothy “Sissy” Wilchi, brothers Thomas Whalen, Michael (MaryAnn) Whalen, and Kevin Whalen (Cheryl Guill); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Patrick attended grade school at Holy Name where he played baseball. He attended both DeAndries High School and Laboure High School.  After high school Patrick Was Drafted in the United States Army on September 30, 1966, where he is a Vietnam War Veteran and was honorably discharged on September 10, 1969.  After his service with the Army, he worked at the St. Louis City Parks Department and was a St. Louis County Building Inspector.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, from 10:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM at JOHN L. ZIEGENHEIN & SON SOUTH CITY CHAPEL, 7027 Gravois Avenue.  Interment private at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
