Richard Caldwell

January 9, 1940 — December 3, 2019

Richard Caldwell was born in Labadie, Missouri, January 9th, 1940 where he attended Eureka High School. He was employed as a machinist by Theil Tool and Engineering and worked there for over 20 years. After retiring, Richard worked for Southwest Autoparts for another 13 years. Richard was a Jack of All Trades and loved to tinker on cars, trucks and pretty much anything mechanical.

Rich was drafted into the United States Army in July 1962. He served overseas in Baumholder Germany in the 3rd Battalion, 16th Field Artillery Regiment. Richard was a sharpshooter with the M-14. Even though Rich did not initially want to be in the Army, he grew to love the time he served and to respect and honor all those who did the same.

On the night of September 26th, 1988 Richard met his future wife Mary at the Chrome Bar in St. Louis. Rich asked her for a dance, which led to lots more dancing. Rich and Mary loved to dance. So much so, that one night in Las Vegas they danced until 5:30 in the morning. Rich and Mary were married on April 21st, 1990.

Richard comes from a large family and between them, Mary and Richard have 10 children, many grandchildren and many more great-grandchildren. We all have fond memories of celebrating the holidays and other events hosted at Rich and Mary's house.

The family of Richard Caldwell wishes to express our sincere thanks for the condolences and other expressions of love during our time of bereavement. Please feel free to donate to the Paralyzed Veterans of America ~ PO Box 758593 Topeka KS 66675-8593 in lieu of flowers
