Son of Rosemary Kisling Doerr and the late Louis J Doerr, Jr.

Loving husband of Kathleen (Cain), dear father of Kevin David and Eric Joseph.

Dear brother of Louis John, III (Ann Howland); Susan Marie (Allen Mathieu), Lawrence William (Anne Lueckenhoff) and Mary Cecile/Sally (Jerome Doyle). Dearest uncle, cousin, and brother-in-law.

Tom attended Our Lady of Pillar Elementary School, Chaminade High School, St. Mary’s University, the University of Chicago-Pritzker School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Iowa.

Tom was an internist/primary care physician in the St. Louis region for more than 30 years. He most recently had a part-time practice at Innovare Health. He was co-founder and board member of Essence Healthcare and Director of Innovation Research for Lumeris. Tom cared deeply about his family and his patients. He was a physician and healer, who used his skills to advance the medical profession and open avenues of healthcare to people who could not afford it. Tom responded to the cry of the poor and provided physical exams to the homeless in the basement of his church.

Tom was a pillar of the Saints Peter and Paul parish family and shared his creative imagination and musical talent with its congregants.

Tom was an excellent swimmer, scuba diver, musician, composer, and robotics coach/mentor. His interests included family, reading, philosophy, and healthcare reform. Tom was known and loved for his great sense of humor and dry wit. He will be missed.
