Virgie Overy-Hopfer

Hopfer-Overy, Virgie C. was born in Hartshorn, MO and entered into rest on Friday, May 28, 2021.

Virgie was preceded in death by her former husband Marvin Overy, husband and her sons, Douglas M. O’Very and Danny R. O’Very, her parents, Floyd & Wave Reynolds and siblings Juanita Myers (Robert), Dorothy Hackman (Alvin),  James Glover, Leroy Reynolds (Carol).

She is survived by her  husband Norman E. Hopfer; sister Gertrude Glover, daughter Dottie Koch; daughter-in-law Maureen O’Very ; step children; N. Stanley (Terri) Hopfer; Theresa H. (Mark) Lamezyk ; Jeffrey M. (Jessica) Hopfer; grandchildren; Daniel O’Very, (Heidi), Julie Koch (John), Cathleen Wolff (Michael), J. Matthew Koch (Katie), Caitlin Semple (Kevin), Joseph Koch (Lauren); Lucas, Molly, Ella Hopfer; great-grandchildren; Avis, Roane, Charlotte, Daniel, Henry, Lena, Vivienne, Frankie, Margot, Maren, baby Semple; many nieces and nephews.

Virgie enjoyed ballroom dancing, crocheting and traveling, and the last couple years playing Bingo. Family would like to thank all the wonderful caregivers at Sunrise of Des Peres. She will truly be missed.

MASK ARE REQUIRED Visitation will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 from 9am until services @ 11am @ Gethsemane Lutheran Church ELCA, Interment following services to St. Ferdinand Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Gethsemane Lutheran Church or American Lung Cancer Association.
